For more than 30 years, Malverne has benefited from Jim’s extensive legal skills. He has been your Village Justice since 2012, served as the Village Attorney for 14 years, and was a Prosecutor for 10 years prior.

Many Mayors and Trustees have relied on his counsel in critical areas such as labor contracts, discipline, certiorari, and litigation. As Village Attorney Jim has donated countless hours of legal work to the Village beyond the scope of his contractual responsibilities. Additionally, he was involved in modernizing the village code and served as a volunteer on the Cable Television Committee responsible for negotiating the recovery of more than $200,000 owed to the village.

Graduating from New York Law School in 1980, Jim has been practicing law for more than forty years and maintains his own law practice, the Law Offices of James G. Frankie, which primarily focuses on criminal law, civil rights litigation, and labor law. Jim has tried numerous cases to verdict in both New York State and Federal Courts and argued before both New York State and Federal Appellate Courts. He is a member of the Nassau County, New York State and Nassau Criminal Courts Bar Associations. Jim has served as an arbitrator for the Nassau County District Court and currently belongs to both the Nassau County and New York State Magistrates Associations. In addition, Jim is a Judicial Hearing Officer for the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Bureau.

Jim moved to the village with his family nearly 50 years ago. He and his wife of over forty years Sharon O’Malley Frankie raised their three children in Malverne.
